Former Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Tang Tao and His Delegation Visited School of Labor and Human Resources for A Research Tour
June 10, 2025On June 6, 2025, a delegation led by Tang Tao, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), visited the School of Labor and Human Resources for a research and consultation session. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions and exchanges focusing on policies and academic research in the labor field. Participants included Tang Tao—former Vice Minister of MOHRSS, member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and member of the Social and Legal Affairs Committee—Liu Junchang, Party Secretary of the China Academy of Labor and Social Security; Li Jian, Deputy Director of the Department of Scientific Research and Academic Societies at the China Academy of Labor and Social Security; Zhao Zhong, Professor and Dean of the School of Labor and Human Resources; Liu Xiangbo, Professor and Vice Dean of the School; Zhao Liqiu, Professor and Head of the Department of Labor Economics; Luo Nanfeng, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Human Resource Management; and Bai Chen, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Social Security.
The research meeting was grounded in practical issues and centered on governance innovation, aiming to conduct promising research on major issues in the labor field and provide theoretical support for policy-making. Against the backdrop of deepening globalization and China’s domestic economic transformation and upgrading, the labor sector faces both significant opportunities and challenges. The participants engaged in broad discussions on topics such as the construction of a theoretical system for employment in China; the impact of artificial intelligence and population aging on the labor market; new forms of employment and related labor rights and social security; international labor standards and global labor governance; the development of labor science as an academic discipline, including textbook system construction and talent cultivation; as well as the establishment of specialized committees, the organization of academic conferences, and the conduct of research activities.
